We understand that it's not easy to recruit the best developers at short notice, so for us, it's an ongoing thing. We tend not to advertise for a specific vacancy, but are constantly on the lookout for the best programmer talent out there. If the right person comes along, we'll do what we can to hire them.

  Nonlinear Dynamics is a small, responsive company that won't restrict you in the way that larger companies can. Don't believe us? Get in touch and ask us about how we work. In the development team, we use agile practices from SCRUM and are evolving these constantly based on our experiences. There's no dogma here.
• Develop using up-to-date technologies
  We build desktop Windows applications using the .NET stack, primarily in C#, and making heavy use of WPF & WinForms (new work is done in WPF), MVVM, LINQ, Unity, MEF, the Task Parallel library, Moq, and small amounts of Reactive extensions, WCF and more. In terms of tools, we use Visual Studio 2010, ReSharper, Mercurial, NUnit, FogBugz, Kiln, Trello, TeamCity and OneNote; plus anything else we feel we need.

  The software we develop is helping scientists all over the world to better understand the biochemical world, developing drugs to fight cancer, plants to revolutionise biofuel production, and so much more. Working at Nonlinear, you'll learn a little about biochemistry too — it's a fascinating domain and a great way of expanding your mind. Job satisfaction doesn't come much better.
• An easy commute
  Our core working hours are from 10am to 4pm (in a 37.5 hour week), meaning you can avoid the rush hour. Overlooking the Newcastle quayside, we're also just a couple of minutes' walk from the nearest Metro station and 10 minutes' walk from Central Station, so you might be able to avoid the roads altogether.
