Nonlinear Dynamics expands US subsidiary

Newcastle upon Tyne (UK) Nonlinear Dynamics, a leading provider of bioinformatics solutions, has expanded its US subsidiary, Nonlinear USA Inc, with the recruitment of Steve Noblitt as Mid West Sales Executive. Steve is the latest addition to the US Company, established a year ago to provide direct support to customers, OEM partners and other distributors in what is the largest market place in the world for Nonlinear's bioinformatics solutions.

The Company promotes, supports and distributes Nonlinear Dynamics' full product range. This includes TotalLab, Phoretix and Progenesis, the revolutionary new software for fully automated, high-throughput 2D electrophoresis gel analysis. Established adjacent to the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, the Company has had a very promising first year with sales for the first quarter of 2001 up 300% from the same period last year.

The Chief Executive Officer of Nonlinear USA Inc, Mark Bennett, commented, "Since we set up our US subsidiary, there has been a significant response to all of our software products. The requirement for bioinformatics solutions is huge in this still expanding market and the Nonlinear product range has been very well received."

Dr Bob Marchmont, the President of the Company, added "We have been selling into the US market for a number of years now but incorporating the US subsidiary has given us the ability to support our customers and resellers in a way which was previously impractical. We see the US market as the largest growth area over the coming years for us. Incorporating Nonlinear USA Inc was an absolute necessity to enable us to achieve this goal."
