Nonlinear Dynamics extends range of software for 2D electrophoresis image analysis

(Newcastle upon Tyne, UK). Nonlinear Dynamics announces the launch of their expanded range of high-quality 2D electrophoresis image analysis software. The new products, successfully showcased at Drug Discovery Technology, 2002 in Boston (Aug 4 - 9), address the diverse requirements of a growing 2D gel analysis market.

2D gel electrophoresis is a cornerstone technology used widely in the field of proteomics. By launching such a comprehensive portfolio of 2D products Nonlinear acknowledges that scientists have a range of image analysis needs - from a hands-on manual approach for in-depth studies to a more automated push-button method for high-throughput users.

Nonlinear's Phoretix 2D is already an industry-standard package for researchers with lower throughput requirements who really want to delve into their research using the comprehensive range of editing tools provided. Progenesis, launched in 2001, was the first 2D product to successfully offer a high-throughput, automated, objective approach to this problematic technique. Bridging the gap between Phoretix and Progenesis, Nonlinear has introduced Phoretix Evolution. This brand new product benefits from "trickle-down" technology from the Progenesis range, delivering advanced functionality within a Phoretix product that significantly reduces hands-on time during analysis. In addition, the Progenesis range has been expanded with the launch of two new products both incorporating sophisticated new algorithms - Progenesis Workstation for medium to high throughput; and Progenesis Discovery, the ultimate proteomics solution for automated high-throughput gel analysis to be launched later this year.
