DTI Smart award for proteomics development

Nonlinear Dynamics receives DTI Smart award in recognition and support of proteomics technology development

(Newcastle upon Tyne, UK). Nonlinear Dynamics Ltd, a leading provider of innovative bioinformatics solutions for the life sciences, announces that they have won a Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Smart Exceptional Development Award. The £435,000 award funds a research-based project for the development of "Progenera", a powerful bioinformatics data engine with sophisticated distributed computing technology.

Paid over 19 months, the award supports the Nonlinear Advanced Technologies (NAT) development team, which offers high-throughput data analysis management and mining solutions to scientists in both academic and commercial research.

Progenera is being developed as a unique suite of bioinformatics tools running on a client/server-based Oracle platform initially designed to centralize, track, manage and mine Proteomics workflow. Its huge capacity allows it to grow to meet the explosion of data occurring in today's life science environment. The system is also highly flexible and provides simple integration of a range of biodata that can support and enhance Proteomics research.
