Nonlinear Dynamics appoints Tomy Digital Biology Company Ltd. as its distributor in Japan

(Newcastle upon Tyne, UK and Tokyo, Japan). Nonlinear Dynamics Ltd. announced the appointment of Tomy Digital Biology Company Ltd. as Nonlinear's exclusive distributor for its Phoretix brand proteomics software applications in Japan.

The new partnership with Tomy Digital will strengthen the position of Nonlinear's market-leading image analysis products for gel electrophoresis and DNA microarrays, and allow both companies to take advantage of rapid current growth in use of these emerging proteomics research techniques in Japan. One of the most successful Japanese resellers of innovative software for molecular biology research, Tomy Digital has placed genomic data analysis systems in over 200 pharmaceutical and academic research centers.

"Nonlinear's gel and array analysis systems are the perfect complement to our expertise in data analysis and interpretation," said Ken Tominaga, Chief Operating Officer of Tomy Digital Biology. "We foresee a strong and continuing shift in Japanese research funding toward expression genomics and proteome characterization, and Nonlinear's products represent the state of the art in both these areas. These products will be key building blocks for both new laboratories and those already in our customer base for years to come, and we can confidently help our users to improve their research by using these components as genomics and proteomics continue to converge."

Dr. Alan Koontz, General Manager, Pacific Rim, for Nonlinear Dynamics, observed, "It's a privilege to work with an organization that has the depth of experience and resources in leading-edge technology of Tomy Digital. The biggest challenge for proteomics scientists today is how to bring together the most appropriate tools for designing experiments, obtaining the best quality data, and interpreting the data to achieve meaningful results. Tomy Digital has a clear record of success in helping its customers understand the research process and select products which will guarantee both the best return on their research investment and the best science."
