UTMB upgrades to Progenesis Discovery Informatics

University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston upgrades to Progenesis Discovery Informatics

(Newcastle upon Tyne, UK) Nonlinear Dynamics Ltd, a leading provider of bioinformatics solutions, announced that the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) has upgraded to its top-of-the-range Progenesis Discovery Informatics product.

UTMB invested in one of Nonlinear's 2D analysis solutions - Progenesis Discovery - over a year ago and recently chose to upgrade to the Informatics version, the highest in the range of eight analysis and data-mining products that Nonlinear offer. UTMB has also taken out a three-year maintenance package, which will ensure that they receive quality support and the latest updates from Nonlinear's team of experienced developers and scientists.

Progenesis Discovery Informatics has only recently been released by Nonlinear Dynamics. The Informatics module has been designed to store, link and track the huge range of data that can be generated by Progenesis Discovery users. This is not only that generated by the analysis module, but also from mass spectrometers, sample tracking information and other related biodata. The data is presented in a logical way, linked to the proteomics laboratory workflow. Powerful data-mining is simple, and enables the user to examine relationships, research protein modifications and explore areas for further investigation.
