Global Proteomics Survey - Winners Announced

Global Proteomics Survey

(Newcastle upon Tyne) Nonlinear Dynamics Ltd, a leading provider of bioinformatics solutions, has today announced the winners of it's global proteomics survey prize draw. Entry to the draw was obtained through participation in the survey carried out in March and April.

In exchange for taking part, participants were automatically entered into a draw to win one of 10 Amazon.com vouchers, worth £50/€70/$80 each.

The survey itself was part of an independent study carried out by Nonlinear Dynamics into the continued evolution in the field of proteomics. This included research into emerging proteomics technologies including the use of biomarkers and mass spectrometry as well as hardware, gels and reagents.

John Spreadbury, Group Sales and Marketing Director at Nonlinear Dynamics and CEO of
Nonlinear USA Inc., said, "The survey generated a fantastic response with hundreds of scientists from all over the world taking part. Participants were invited to speculate on the future areas of importance in the proteomics marketplace, generating some interesting results. The study forms part of a wider investigation carried out by Nonlinear into the current situation and challenges facing the life sciences. This is part of our ongoing interaction between Nonlinear and lab based scientists, and we are planning to supplement this information with further quantitative and qualitative studies over the coming months."

The draw was conducted on the 28th April 2005. The 10 winners of the Amazon vouchers are:

Alan Hargreaves, Nottingham Trent University, UK
Olga Loseva, University of Stockholm, Sweden
Rosalind Jenkins, University of Liverpool, UK
Nils Henninger, University of Heidelberg, Germany
David MacIntyre, Mothers & Babies Research Institute, Australia
Michael Becker, University of Kaiserslautern, Germany
Randeep Rakwal, AIST, Japan
Barbara Cottrell, University of California at San Diego, USA
Larry Lu, Yale University, USA
Taras Stasyk, Med. Universität Innsbruck, Austria

Nonlinear would like to thank all those who took part.
