BioMachines Inc adopt Nonlinear Dynamics' SameSpots approach for 2D image analysis

(Newcastle upon Tyne, UK) Nonlinear Dynamics Ltd, a leading global provider of bioinformatics solutions, today announced that BioMachines Inc. have selected SameSpots as the 2D analysis solution to support their new state-of-the-art protein analysis service. BioMachines' newly created Applied Proteomics Services Division differentiates itself by offering a fully integrated technology platform and giving advantages in data quality and throughput. The unique approach of Nonlinear's new SameSpots solution is a key component to delivering this offer.

SameSpots offers proteomics researchers a major breakthrough in the analysis of 2D single stain and DIGE images. This unique approach offers users a streamlined, faster 2D workflow, largely through the elimination of post analysis editing (on the majority of experiments). This drastically speeds up the 2D analysis process and reduces the subjectivity which editing inevitably introduces. The SameSpots approach also guarantees 100% matching across an experiment and no missing values, allowing increased statistical power and new possibilities for 2D based proteomics research.

Tom M. Larrichio, CEO, BioMachines Inc. added, "We implemented the SameSpots approach in our 2D image analysis workflow as we recognize the significant time-savings it offers on what is a labor intensive process. Applying SameSpots to the aligned images vastly reduces, and even removes in some cases, the need for post analysis editing - the time consuming part of 2D image analysis."

Doug Hinerfeld, Technical Director, BioMachines Applied Proteomics Group said, "By implementing SameSpots in our analysis workflow, we are achieving complete matching across an experiment, with no missing values, so we can have confidence in any statistical tests we choose to perform."

David Bramwell, Technical Director of Nonlinear Dynamics said "We are overwhelmed by the interest developing around SameSpots and the positive feedback we have received telling us the difference it makes to 2D proteomics. BioMachines' new division, whose business is based on protein analysis, is showing a renewed interest in proteomics and SameSpots appears to be playing a key role in creating that interest."

About Nonlinear Dynamics Ltd

Nonlinear Dynamics develops proteomics analysis software that is different, ground-breaking and above all designed to help you generate reliable conclusions that are reproducible across labs. Our new way of thinking has been applied to LCMS, MALDI and 2D data analysis so you can make a real difference using a combination of the right techniques, your expertise and the Progenesis software. The TotalLab laboratory products for 1D gel analysis provide quick and simple quantitation through to in-depth lane relationship studies, as well as offering features for research that requires 21CFR part 11 compliance.

"Everything about Nonlinear Dynamics makes it a great company to work with..."
