APAF to adopt Nonlinear Dynamics' SameSpots approach as part of their proteomics research |
|||||
|
(Newcastle upon Tyne, UK) Nonlinear Dynamics Ltd, a leading global provider of bioinformatics solutions, today announced that the Australian Proteome Analysis Facility Ltd. (APAF) has adopted Nonlinear's new SameSpots approach to 2D gel image analysis, by investing in TT900 S2S used with their installed Progenesis PG240 software. The SameSpots approach achieves 100% matching across any size experiment with no missing values within the data. The ability to generate a completely matched experiment delivers 2D proteomics data with real statistical power. This translates into major improvements in the quality and reliability of analysis results. Professor Mark Baker, CEO of the Australian Proteome Analysis Facility, said, "TT900 S2S with SameSpots delivers an alternative starting point for 2D image analysis - offering significant improvements in image matching. The benefit of reliably matching spots across all gel images from the start means you can quickly focus your research efforts on investigating the few spots showing statistically valid changes, which are indicative of potentially interesting expression profiling changes" Mark Bennett, General Manager of Nonlinear Dynamics' US and Pacific
Rim operations, said, "APAF has a reputation as one of the worlds
leading proteomics research facilities. We are therefore delighted they
have underlined their confidence in Nonlinear's analysis solutions through
their purchase of TT900 S2S and upgrading PG240 to enable SameSpots.
This means the quality and reliability of their 2D results will be dramatically
enhanced."
