How are peaks detected and measured?

After alignment the software creates a weighted average spectrum of all the spectra to do peak detection on. Once the peaks are detected then a measurement at that position is taken from all the individual spectra. This means that a measurement is made even if no peak exists (or it is very small) ensuring no values are missing when calculating the statistics.
