What's the differente between Whole Protein and Isotope Group detection?

Whole Protein detection is used on low to medium resolution spectra. It simple detects all peaks individually above the defined threshold.

Isotope group detection is used on high resolution spectra and attempts to find isotope patterns indicating a single protein. The whole group is used in the measurement stage for volume and peak height (the highest in the group). The mass value is taken at the first isotope in the group (the mono-isotopic peak). All peaks can be edited to include more or less volume and even the mass position can be altered.
