Fold Change

The fold change value shown in the spot list is calculated from the mean normalised volumes between groups (in the case where there are more than two groups, the maximum of these changes is shown).

a spot with a max fold change of 2.3

For example, spot 37 (highlighted above) in a three group experiment has a maximum fold change of 2.3. The mean normalised volumes for this spot in the three groups are:

Control:

1.333

Drug A:

0.753

Drug B:

1.764

In this case, the fold change of 2.3 is between groups 'Drug A' (the lowest mean normalised volume) and 'Drug B' (the highest mean normalised volume).
