Recommended PC specification
You can use Progenesis SameSpots on any PC running:
- Windows 7 (32bit or 64bit)
- Windows Vista (32bit or 64bit)
- Windows XP (32bit)
Performance depends on processing power. As a guide, times of 5 minutes per gel were recorded using a Windows Vista PC with a 2.0 GHz CPU and 2GB RAM. This was analysing a 20 gel experiment (image files were 9MB each).
For a new PC, anything equivalent to the Dell Precision range will work well for Progenesis SameSpots.
Progenesis SameSpots fully supports multi-core CPUs and 64bit versions of Windows, which are recommended for maximum performance.
